Sister Anne-Marie François has worked tirelessly for the blind.
The Haitian Society for Aid to the Blind (HSAB)
is present in nine departments of the country. The central office
is in Port-au-Prince. Five regional offices and communal committees
complete the structure.
The SHAA offers many services among which are :
- Prevention of blindness
- Functional re-adaptation
- Integrated education
- Sound and Braille library
- Literacy in Braille
- Readiness for revenue-producing activities
- Various practical courses of benefit to the blind and the partially
sighted.
