The house entrusted to the Sehailé community is a result of the spirituality and the charisma of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, charisma which is directed toward people on the fringe, beyond frontiers and religions.

The multidisciplinary team assures intervention at all levels: social, psychological, social-educational

Objectives:


Aim toward preventing under-age girls (minors) at risk from becoming delinquent.

Assure protection for those who are in a dangerous situation.

Enable their re-education in a welcoming atmosphere.

Encourage their professional rehabilitation so they can realize their life’s project.

Prepare and support the process of their professional and social reinsertion.

Proposed services:


Social service:

Help girls develop confidence in themselves.

Intervene with the family, in view of mediation, orientation, building awareness and eventually re-integration.

Psychological service:

Assure psychological presence within the multidisciplinary team and establish clinical and therapeutic acts.

Support the team in reflection and its psycho-educative intervention. Participate in the psycho-affective development of the girls.

Intervene with the families in therapeutic aims for the girls.

Help construct individualized and group projects, starting with the admission of the girls on up to their social reinsertion.

Programme of accompaniment in life:

Assure that the girl has quality accompaniment with a view to her personal development and her autonomy.

Educate the young girl in daily values.

Accompany the girl in life.

Programme of literacy and remedial school classes:

Allow the young illiterate to take literacy courses and the non-schooled young to take remedial courses which take into account her intellectual aptitude.

Assure that the girls have a follow-up to their scholastic studies in a school outside.

Support the girls in their studies.

Programme of professional training:

Offer girls professional training with a view toward employment.
